What is the Salsa Mambo Festival? |
This event is a gathering of dancers, musicians, vendors, performers and instructors to meet and share their love for dancing; especially Salsa & Mambo. Days are filled with multiple workshops running simultaneously from 9AM - 4PM that cater to dancers from beginner to advanced levels. Afterwards, enjoy a fun-filled pool party for the whole family. Then, after dinner get ready for amazing performances and showcases topped off with high energy social dancing until 4AM! |
When is the Salsa Mambo Festival? |
This event takes place in the summer (last weekend of July) and in the winter (last week of December) at the Dorel Princess Resort in Palms Springs, CA. The Salsa Mambo Festival is truly the only Salsa/Mambo event that is managed by professionals in Southern California! |
What should I wear to the workshops? |
Dress comfortably. Many wear workout clothing. We recommend a light shirt, light sweatpants and dance shoes. You will be very active and moving around. We also recommend bringing a dance bag with breath mints, a hand towel, a notepad and water/sports drink |
What should I wear to the evening festivities |
Get ready for our themed nights! You will not be requried to be dressed in theme attire but it will be a LOT OF FUN to!

Do I need a dance partner? |
You don't need a partner at all. In fact, there are few instances where you keep the same partner during the entire workshop. Most instructors rotate partners throughout the class. Doing so, gives you a chance to experience different leads/follows, and meet new people. Come with or without a partner, and bring your friends, the more the merrier! |
Is video recording allowed? |
Video recording is NOT ALLOWED during the workshops. At the end of the workshop the instructor may give a video opportunity to attendees at the workshop only. This is the instructor's option, and is not required. Video recording IS ALLOWED during the night performances and social dancing. |
Is the event family friendly? |
Absolutely! This event is family friendly. We play games on the dance floor, in the pool, and during our workshops! The entire weekend is chalk-full of kid and adult games that are clean, fun, and for EVERYONE to enjoy! This weekend feel free to let go and just be a "kid" again! Simply "enjoy" learning the fantabulous skill of social dancing for a change! YOU WILL HAVE A BLAST!! This weekend is certain to change your life forever!! |

FABULOUS SHOWS from some of the world's TOP DANCE PERFORMERS! Come witness first-hand what some of these performers do around the world! Many have performed in countries we haven't even heard of! Evening Social Dancing till 4am!!
Here's your chance to practice and show off those steps you learned during the day!!! Practice over and over again with the instructors and your fellow class mates without feeling guilty or self-conscious about "how you're doing" or "how you look." Everyone is in the same boat - learning wise, so hop on board and get out on that dance floor! This is the perfect learning and practice platform, preparing you for the "outside world" of social dancing virtually anywhere!!! From cruises, to weddings, these evening socials are CERTAIN to gear you up for ANY dance occasion or event!!!
Two Dance Ballrooms!!
Pure Salsa in the Grand Ballroom, and alternative music in the other! This year, we are also adding Argentine Tango, Swing, Lindy-Hop, Ballroom, Rumba, Bachata, and other special surprise classes! We will host a separate dance ballroom specifically for these types of dances, aside from pure Salsa dancing in the Grand Ballroom!
Dance Competitions!!
Here's your chance to TURN UP THE HEAT and give your zest for competing a "go!" Don't be afraid to get out there and just "go for it!" Our contests range from Amateur to Professional in virtually every category so grab your guts and give it a go! Remember it's all in fun, and will certainly build your character as a dancer and as a person!!! Trophies, cash, and giveaways are ALWAYS the norm at our events!!!
Pool Parties and Hot Tubs!
This is by far the BEST part of the events we give! All of our events include pool-side parties, weather permitting. We usually have the coolest pool games and contests, especially during the summer festival. So come on out to Palm Springs, where it's always sunny, bright, and warm all year-round!!!
